Fopus Privacy Policy

Fopus ("the app") is developed by bingseir. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what control you have over it.

The short version

Fopus stores the subjects you create and the study sessions you record, so they survive across devices. It uses analytics to understand how the app is used and to measure advertising. It does not sell your personal data, and it does not ask for access to your camera, microphone, contacts or location.

What the app collects

Account information. Fopus creates an anonymous account automatically the first time you open it, so you can use the app without signing up. If you choose to secure your account, you provide an email address and a password. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider and are never visible to us.

Your study data. The subjects you create — their names, colours and timer settings — and the study sessions you record, including their start time, end time and duration.

Device and usage data. Records of how you use the app, such as starting and completing a study session, together with your device's advertising identifier and an installation identifier used by our analytics provider.

Purchase information. If you buy Fopus Premium, our purchase provider records that a purchase was made and which product it was. Fopus never receives or stores your payment card details.

Analytics and advertising

Fopus uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the app is used — for example, how many study sessions are started and completed — and to measure the performance of advertising for Fopus. This service collects your device's advertising identifier, an installation identifier, and records of your interactions with the app. This information is shared with Google and may be used to measure and improve advertising for Fopus.

Fopus does not display advertisements inside the app.

You can reset your advertising identifier, or opt out of ad personalisation entirely, at any time in your device settings under Settings → Google → Ads.

For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising consent signals are disabled by default.

Third-party services

The app relies on the following providers, each of which may process some of the data described above on our behalf:

Google Play Services — app distribution, billing and core device services.

Google Analytics for Firebase — usage analytics and advertising measurement. Collects your device's advertising identifier.

Supabase — database and authentication. Stores your account, subjects and study history on our behalf.

RevenueCat — processes and manages in-app subscriptions and purchases safely. Fopus does not directly collect or store your payment card details.

Resend — delivers account emails, such as confirmation and password reset messages. Receives your email address for that purpose only.

Some of these providers operate servers outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the European Economic Area, it is done under the safeguards those providers have in place.

How long data is kept

Your account and study data are kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, they are removed permanently.

Anonymous, aggregated usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained after deletion.

Purchase records are retained by Google Play and RevenueCat as required by law and tax regulations, and are not removed when you delete your Fopus account.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and everything associated with it at any time:

In the app — Settings → Delete account. Your account, subjects, sessions and settings are removed immediately.

By email — if you have uninstalled the app, email bingseir@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my Fopus account", from the address registered to your account. Requests are processed within 30 days.

You can also delete individual subjects and sessions inside the app without deleting your account.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email bingseir@gmail.com.

If you are a California resident, you may request access to or deletion of your personal data. We do not sell your personal data.

Children's privacy

These services do not address anyone under the age of 13, and Fopus does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes are published on this page, and the effective date above is updated accordingly.
